Bondi Reveals Inquiry into President's Opponents and Jeffrey Epstein Links

This past Friday, the Attorney General assigned interim US attorney Jay Clayton to head an probe into opponents of Donald Trump and their relationships with Jeffrey Epstein. This action came hours after Trump ordered her to begin the investigation.

In a statement, Bondi commended Clayton as “one of the most capable and trusted prosecutors in the country”. She remarked, “This case will be addressed with speed and honesty to ensure public transparency.”

This action seems to diverge from a July memo from federal authorities which declared that documents related to Epstein did not warrant further inquiries. According to the memo, authorities “found no proof justifying probes into uncharged individuals”

The President Demands Focus on Democrats in the Epstein Matter

The announcement comes as increasing demands from the president on congressional Republicans to block the full release of Epstein-related documents before an upcoming House vote next week. Several lawmakers are expected to back the disclosure.

Recently released emails from Jeffrey Epstein have spotlighted the president’s previous connections with the convicted criminal, revealing information that his knowledge of Epstein’s behavior exceeded prior admissions.

On Friday, the President announced he would direct the Department of Justice to investigate Epstein’s ties with Democrats, including Bill Clinton, Larry Summers and Reid Hoffman. Interestingly, he also referred to the “Epstein situation” as a “scam”.
